Nations of the Crown One Pound Coin

March 2017 was an exciting time for Royal Mint £1 and £1 coin collectors with the release of the new 12-sided £1 coin. The Royal Mint declared it a "showcase of the latest technology". The lead up had been exciting for avid collectors: the new 12-sided £1 would be the most innovative ever produced by The Royal Mint. It was a showcase for the latest in minting technology, as well as the pinnacle of skills honed over The Royal Mint's 1,000 year history. The mint declared it to be the most secure coin in the world.

Great Fire of London Two Pound Coin

In 2016, The Royal Mint issued a commemorative £2 coin that marked the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London. The coin was designed in association with the Museum of London and depicts a view from the other side of the Thames of the flames engulfing the UK's capital. Arching over the image is the caption 1666 THE GREAT FIRE OF LONDON 2016.

First World War Aviation Two Pound Coin

In 2017, The Royal Mint paid tribute to the brave Pioneers of the Skies. The World War I aviation coin honours the brave aviators of the Great War and is endorsed by the Imperial War Museums. It's part of the British mint's series marking the years from the outbreak of the First World War to armistice. The aviators' played a vital role in Britains' campaigns.
