The Queen's 90th birthday commemorative coin

The Royal Mint's silver £20 coin to celebrate an historic royal first

This stunning fine silver coin marks the year Queen Elizabeth II became the first British monarch to celebrate a landmark birthday. It's part of the Mint's Commemorative Fine Silver Coin series.

About the Silver Coin's Design

The Queen's birthday coin reverse features a wreath of roses, created by acclaimed artist and sculptor Christopher Hobbs. The design was inspired by Her Majesty’s love of flowers and approved by The Queen herself. Each of the nine English roses in the wreath represents one decade of The Queen's life.

The coin is struck in fine silver, finished to Brilliant Uncirculated standard, and is available in strictly limited numbers.

The Commemorative Fine Silver Coin Series

In 2013, The Royal Mint issued the UK's first £20 coin available at £20. Since then, each release in this coin collection has been very popular, with every new issue marking an important cultural events. Past £20 coins have honoured the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One, the 50th anniversary of Sir Winston Churchill's death and the moment HM The Queen became Britain's longest reigning monarch.
