Beatrix Potter 50p Coin Collection

The much loved British author has enthralled generations across the world with her popular children's books. In 1902, Beatrix published the first of her 24 Tales, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which was followed the next year by The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin.

Interest in Beatrix Potter was reignited in 2015 when an original manuscript written in 1914 was rediscovered. The Tale of Kitty-in-Boots was published in 2016, the same year The Royal Mint issued its hugely popular Peter Rabbit™ 50p coin to mark 150 years of Beatrix Potter.

Peter Rabbit 50p Coins

Peter Rabbit, possibly the most famous of Beatrix Potter's characters, was the first to feature in the 2017 collection. The coin, endorsed by publisher Frederick Warne & Co, was a massive hit.

The Royal Mint nearly broke the internet in April 2017 when it launched the Peter Rabbit 50p silver coin. Within hours, they had all been snapped up and posted on eBay at much higher prices.

The Tale Continues...

Other highly anticipated 50 pence coins in the series depict other much-loved characters - Mr Jeremy Fisher, Tom Kitten and Benjamin Bunny.
